Butterfly Species Found In SMK Majakir

This was one of the first butterflies caught during the butterfly garden campain. It stayed in the enclosure for a few days, then, like all the other butterflies, it mysteriously 'disappeared'...

Family - PAPILIONIDAE

subfamily - PAPILIONINAE

Tribe - LEPTOCIRCINI


 

Easily found in forest road and village. Known to breed on Annona (buah nona). This species has a distinctive characteristic of possessing the mottled pattern of apple colour both on upper and undersides. This species is very widely distributed in Asia and the Oriental region.

Lime butterfly
Papilio (Princeps) demoleus  LINNAEUS, 1758

Family - PAPILIONIDAE

subfamily - PAPILIONINAE

Tribe - PAPILIONINI

This butterfly is the most common among all the Papilio. Being found in villages and town garden. 
The larvae of this butterfly utilize most species of Citrus as the food plant.

Unidentified...yet!

This is obviously one of the most commonly found around the school. Thus explains how I could have caught their pictures more than once between long spans of time. I will update you on this one, ok, as soon as I find out the species... ;D
